How it works
PayShards is a simple way to buy and use digital credits called shards. You buy shards once, then spend them on digital goods and features across our network of sites. One balance, one account, no re-entering your card every time. Here’s how it works.
1. Buy shards
Pick a pack and pay with your card. Packs range from $5 to $100, and the rate is always the same: 100 shards = $1. Your balance updates the moment your payment confirms, usually within seconds. Card payments are handled by an established payment processor, so your card details go straight to them and are never stored by PayShards. Shards never expire, so anything you buy stays in your balance until you use it.
2. Spend across our sites
The sites in our network deduct shards from your balance when you unlock something or use a paid feature. You sign in once, and the same balance works everywhere across our network. Every spend is instant and recorded, so you always know exactly what a purchase cost and what you have left.
3. One ledger, always reconciled
Every top-up, spend, and refund is written to your ledger as its own entry. Your balance is the single source of truth, and you can see the full history behind it at any time. What you see is always what you have, down to the last shard.
Your payments are secure
Card payments run through an established, PCI-compliant payment processor over an encrypted connection. PayShards never sees or stores your full card number. We keep only your shard balance and your purchase history, never your payment details. When you buy shards, the only thing that reaches us is confirmation that your payment went through.
Refunds
Unused shards can be refunded within 30 days of purchase, back to your original payment method, subject to review. A spend can also be reversed back to your balance. See our refund policy for the full details.
